Boutique homestay

Yên — a place to be still

Tucked between rice fields and slow mornings, Yên Homestay is a small garden-home built around one idea: rest. "Yên" means peace in Vietnamese, and that is exactly what we offer — soft light through open windows, the smell of fresh coffee, birdsong over the courtyard, and all the time in the world to do nothing at all. Stay a while. Breathe a little slower.

Wellness

Days that restore you

Stillness is a practice, not just a place. Each week we host gentle sessions in the garden and the meditation hall — led by local teachers and open to every level, whether you have practised for years or are simply curious. Join what calls to you, or do nothing at all; both are perfectly welcome here.

  • Morning Qigong

Greet the day with slow, flowing movement in the courtyard as the light comes up — a gentle practice to loosen the body, settle the breath, and wake without hurry.

    Daily · 6:30am · Courtyard garden

  • Guided Meditation

A quiet sitting in the meditation hall, guided in soft voice, to let the mind grow still. Cushions, blankets, and all the time you need are provided.

    Daily · 7:30am & 5:00pm · Meditation hall

  • Healing & Sound

Restorative sessions with singing bowls and breathwork led by a visiting practitioner — an unhurried hour to release what you've been carrying.

Tue & Sat · 4:00pm · By the lotus pond

  • Tea Ceremony

Sit with us for a slow Vietnamese tea ceremony — warming the pot, pouring with care, and tasting the quiet between cups. A small ritual of attention.

    Thu & Sun · 3:00pm · Tea pavilion

  • Gentle Yoga

Soft, breath-led yoga beneath the wooden beams, suitable for every body. Move a little, rest a lot, and leave feeling lighter than you arrived.

Mon, Wed, Fri · 5:30pm · Meditation hall

  • Mindful Forest Walk

A slow, silent walk through the bamboo and rice paths with the host — noticing the birdsong, the light, the feel of the earth, and nothing else at all.

Sat · 6:00am · Meet at the gate

Hospitality

Small comforts, quietly considered

We keep things simple and warm, with someone always nearby to look after the details. Wake to a home-cooked Vietnamese breakfast in the garden, borrow a bicycle for the village lanes, or settle into the shade with a book and a pot of jasmine tea. Everything you need, nothing you don't.

  • Home-cooked breakfast

A fresh Vietnamese breakfast served each morning in the garden — phở, bánh mì, tropical fruit, and slow filter coffee or jasmine tea, made to order whenever you wake.

  • Fast Wi-Fi & a quiet desk

Reliable fibre Wi-Fi throughout the house and a shaded corner desk for the days you need to work — or simply to write a postcard home.

  • Bicycles for wandering

Borrow a bicycle any time to explore the village lanes, ride out to the rice fields, or coast down to the river at sunset. Helmets and a hand-drawn map included.

  • Garden, tea & reading nooks

A shaded courtyard garden with frangipani, hammocks, and a bottomless pot of jasmine tea — plus quiet reading nooks tucked through the house for lingering afternoons.

  • Laundry & fresh linens

Same-day laundry on request and crisp, line-dried linens in every room, so you can travel light and still feel looked after.

  • Local guidance & pickup

Airport and station pickup by arrangement, plus honest, first-hand advice on where to eat, walk, and rest — the best bowl of phở, the hidden trail, the spot to watch the sun go down.

Meet Linh, your host

Yên began as my grandmother's house, and in many ways it still is. I grew up tending this garden with her, and after years away in the city I came home to restore it room by room and open its doors to travellers looking for somewhere gentle to land. I cook breakfast most mornings, know every good noodle stall within walking distance, and will happily point you toward the hidden trails — then leave you to your peace and quiet. The best hospitality, I think, is simply paying attention. You'll be in good hands here.
